Mana Pools

The remainder of our trip was spent in The Mana Pools National Park in a camp on the bank of the majestic River Zambezi.

Our base was the Vundu Camp, sited on rivers bank, and I mean literally just a few yards from the fast flowing waters.
During the night one could often hear a hippopotamus stroll past before it leapt down a few feet into the waters of the river.

Wildlife was all around us and much of it was quite happy to stroll along the camp pathways - including elephants which sometimes took the opportunity to have a good scratch against the large tree trunks used as support posts holding up the raised dining and bar facilities.
