Well Hide & Falcon Tower Hide

The Well Hide is literally built around an old, filled in well space and in the winter months is used as a hide to photograph White-tailed Eagles.

However, at this time of year there are no eagles, but Hoopoe.
A pair had decided to nest inside a large pile of rock and rubble near to a dead tree.
The tree proved a great help to us as the returning bird would fly in and perch up before delivering food to the sitting bird.

The Falcon Tower was ne of my main targets for the trip however the hoped for Red-footed Falcons who usually formed a breeding colony opposite the hide, had only just started to return - only three birds back at that time.

Mind you a Long-eared Owl had taken over one of the next boxes and was added to my list of quality birds for the trip.
