Botswana ~ The Mammals

For many, the big cats were a key target. Thus it was great that our guides found lions on eight days and the often much harder to find leopards, on five days.
Much as I enjoyed these experiences, nothing compared to the times we were found the Wild Dogs. There were a couple of briefer encounters on the first two occasions but twice we spent extended periods towards a den site and were able to watch pups as they played and explored their surroundings,
I am simply enthralled by these animals, the most efficient hunters in Africa, sometimes just watching them rather than taking photographs.
